Much of what we view today as universally good — from basic human freedoms, hospitals, schools, orphanages, and charities — has been a direct result of Jesus' followers practically and faithfully living out His teachings in real time. But let's be honest, the church (whether we're talking about an institution or the people within) over the last 2000 years hasn't always had the best reputation, has it?

Knowing how to navigate the highs and lows of the church in history can be complicated, but it is far from impossible! Join us April 23 & 24, 2027, for our Apologetics US Conference in Chicago, IL, as we seek to provide satisfying answers to curious questions and present a compelling case for the impact of the church in history — whether that's in the first or the twenty-first century.

Andy Steiger, PhD

President

Dr. Andy Steiger is the founder and president of Apologetics Canada Ministries (AC). He passionately engages pressing issues related to our humanity from a Christian perspective. He has presented at various venues such as Cambridge University on philosophical issues related to Artificial Intelligence, provided ethical guidelines on robotics for the United Nations, and addressed legal concerns over rights of conscience at the World Congress in Philosophy of Law.

Andy has published widely from children’s books to the Supreme Court Law Review.

Between his 20 years of pastoral experience and a PhD from the University of Aberdeen, Andy brings both experience and research to his work.

Andy currently lives in Abbotsford, British Columbia, with his wife, Nancy, and their two sons. Most weekends you’ll find the Steigers in the mountains or lakes of BC.

John’s story is eclectic. Starting out as a professional singer-songwriter, he now works as an author, speaker, historian, and media presenter. John hosts the Undeceptions podcast, Australia’s top Christian podcast which has a growing audience in both the US and the UK. He has hosted four television documentaries. The most recent documentary The First Hymn: Resurrecting a song buried for millennia, was released in April 2025.

John has published over 20 books, including Bullies and Saints: An Honest look at the Good and Evil of Christian History (2021). He has held a variety of teaching and research positions before becoming the Jean Kvamme Distinguished Professor of Biblical Studies and Public Christianity at Wheaton College in Illinois in 2022. Before that, John had held positions in the Ancient History Department at Macquarie University (2002-2015), the Hebrew, Jewish and Biblical Studies Department at Sydney University (2011-2021), Ridley College Melbourne (2019-2022), and the Faculty of Classics at the University of Oxford (2015-2023).

A busy public speaker, he lives in Wheaton, Illinois, with his wife Elizabeth and the youngest of their three children.

Wesley Huff

Wesley Huff was born in Multan, Pakistan, and spent a portion of his childhood in the Middle East. After being diagnosed with a rare neurological condition at the age of eleven that left him paralyzed from the waist down, Wes experienced a miraculous recovery for which the doctors themselves had no medical explanation. This experience, along with a great deal of study and soul searching in his later teen years, solidified his interest in faith and in engaging the beliefs and worldview perspectives of others. He spent his high school years in Northern Ontario and currently lives in Toronto, Canada, with his wife and four children.

Wesley is currently the Vice President for Apologetics Canada and has been a guest on a variety of public platforms, from The Joe Rogan Experience to Blurry Creatures Podcast. He has participated in numerous public dialogues, debates, and interfaith events on issues of belief and religion across North America.

He holds a BA in sociology from York University, a Masters of Theological Studies from Tyndale University, and is currently doing a PhD in New Testament at the University of Toronto’s Wycliffe College.
